Unlike last year’s Limited Release Talisker 8, this year’s 15 will be available in the US. 57.3% with some tasting notes shared with the mainline 18yo (notably fish). The bad news, it’s more than a little pricey at US$140. Available from November 8th. I’ve already made room on my shelf.

My thoughts exactly and I have a hunting trip coming up that I typically bring a good scotch to .

I’ve blown some but been anticipating this arrival so kept it to a minimum. I’m only buying one bottle too
(it’s just
too much)
.
Next week’s local spirit release may
hurt the wallet though.
For the 15 m y plan is to watch the Alberta system:

Why would I want scotch that tastes like fish? Scotch is gross enough as is.

Mother of god. Talisker is my favorite alcoholic beverage of all time. The local wegmans has a bottle of their Maritime 1985 that has been there for years now. I’m hoping to make it mine this Christmas season.

I had my first drink 25 years ago and
spent the last 10
vigorously
trying
to find another
I like as much
with no luck. It’s just so singular
.
Love it or hate it,
there’s not another malt like it.
It’s got all the bang of an Isla
y,
but without all the peat. Instead it’s a sweet, salty, rich pepper explosion. Drool.
Just last night I was just thinking, I’ve got my list this year but next year I may give my wallet a rest, buy a Talisker 10, import an 18 and call it a day.
I haven’t had the 25 yet but almost all reviews point to not as good as the 18. With this in mind,
i
t’s
$
400 here and doesn’t seem worth the risk.
If you get the
1985 be sure to post with details!

The ‘85 is a $650 bottle, so I most likely won’t be opening it for a long long time if I do get it.

I understand.
